On Fire
To start the catch report this week, will be Lee Smith in The Decoy, who had an amazing week with us landing over 10 x 40lb’ers, a 50lb and a 60lb’er.
Lets start with Fosters that weighed 60lb 8oz and was a new PB, caught from 12 wraps to the big tree in the direction of The Beach. Fosters has only 6 recorded captures ranging back to 2018. Lee also managed to land 2 Scale weighing 56lb. He caught most of his fish in the day from 18 wraps down his right margin where he left 2 rods. However at night, Lee moved his second rod to 12 wraps towards Beach’s corner.
Lee was using pre tied IQ-D Rigs topped off with a 18mm bottom bait with a pink topper. His spod mix contained maize, pellet, and a fishmeal based boilie in both 16 and 20mm.
Every time Lee had caught he topped up his swim with 3-4 kg at a time.
A fantastic week for Lee, with some cracking results! Well done mate see you back at The Big G soon!
Next up we have Chris Pendry in Dunkerque, who managed to also beat his PB this week with a known fish to us all called Ron’s. This fish was last caught weighing 57lb 4oz and although its currently down in weight it seems to be adding it back on now, weighing 59lb 8oz this time around.
Chris had caught Ron’s from just 9 wraps out towards The Decoy, fishing a spinner rig with a size 4 Krank hook and Korda Boom set up on a Heli Safe system. Chris’s hook bait choice was a fishmeal bottom bait topped with a yellow pop-up. His spod mix contained 18mm ISO-Fish boilie, house pellet and flake maize. For extra attraction Chris added Isotonic Goo into his spod mix as well as the Cell Stick Mix liquid.
In Brambles was Liam Flynn with his biggest of the week weighing 51lb, which was a fish named Missing Link. Liam had caught this from 21 wraps towards the bonsai tree fishing three rods on the same spot.
Shortly after he also managed to land Toploader weighing 48lb.
Throughout the week Liam managed to land more fish during the nights. He was using a spinner rig with a size 4 Longshank Beaked hook and Korda Boom with a Shot on the Hook.
For his hook bait he was using a 18mm ISO-Fish match the hatch bottom bait topped off with a 12mm yellow pop-up soaked in Pango Goo. Liams spod mix contained ISO-Fish boilies, maize and pellet. Liam started with 25 spombs and after every fish he topped his spot up with 5 spombs after every fish.
Over in Turtles Corner was Rhys Richardson. Whilst with us Rhys celebrated his 21st birthday, and even managed to catch a birthday surprise called Broken Tail weighing 50lb 2oz.
Rhys had caught this from 10 wraps to Tea Party 1. He then went on to move into The Bund for the last day, where he managed to catch more fish with his biggest from The Bund being a mid 40 called Inky.
Rhys caught this one from 6 wraps towards The Decoy. His rigs consisted of a size 4 Krank hook with Korda IQ2 and a shot on the hook. This was baited with double fake yellow corn soaked in Isotonic Goo, fishing on a Heli Safe system. In Rhys’s spod mix was a fish based boillie, corn and pellet.
Scott Hughes was fishing in Tea Party 1 this week with his nephew. Scott had managed to land a new PB, a fish named Mysterio weighing 47lb.
Scott was fishing all three rods towards Turtles Corner at 21 wraps. He had also managed to land few more of our stunning carp during the nights. Scott fished with the ever popular spinner rig, containing a size 4 Krank hook and a boom like hook link topped off with a Gigantica Special Isotonic dumbbell wafter in yellow.
