Korda Social
It was the week of the annual Korda Social, so there was definitely a bit of drinking to be expected but on top of that some good fish banked hopefully aswell.
Dave Bendall had the real shining week over Road Lake and seemed to have a nack of landing big fish. Dave fished in The Beach, but didn’t approach the swim how the majority do, Dave took his time to find a couple of hard spots away from where the majority of anglers fish this swim and it definitely paid off. Dave had his rods across 2 different spots and fed slightly different on each, to which both areas produced big fish, on one spot he fished at 21 wraps towards the left hand side of the bund and tended to feed a mix of House Maize, Pellet and Boilie and the other spot which was just to the left of Decoy at 13 and a quarter wraps to a hard gravel spot that he found and fed a mix of different sized pellets with various liquids over them, both spots produced lots of big fish for Dave, Dave’s totals were 23 fish including Ron’s at 64lb, 2 fifties with Mysterio at 53lb and the Nose at 58lb 12oz, aswell as this he managed 5 forties including Breakfast O’clock at 49lb 8oz, Little top lobe at 47lb 14oz, Lottchen at 46lb 8oz and Kulture Klub at 49lb other than this his captures included a mix of twenties and thirties so he really managed to get things right this week and seemingly pick out the bigger fish from the swim.
Then we have Swainy who fished in Turtles Corner, Swainy managed 5 fish with the best being Missing Link at 52lb, he unfortunately lost a real biggen at the net and the other 4 landed fish mainly consisted of 20’s, Swainy was catching them from 21 wraps aiming at the dot island using spinner rigs with 2 pieces of slow sinking pink maize and feeding a mix of maize and boilie over the spot.
Next up we have Craig Cunnings who fished from Decoy, all of Craig’s fish came from his right hand margin at around 17 wraps, he was feeding mainly house maize by going round to the bund and spooning it in from there, craig managed 9 fish from Decoy including a new personal best of 50lb with a fish called The Grey.
Lastly there was a few fish out from elsewhere around the lake but nothing of any particular size, Harry sheard in Shingles managed 2 fish to around mid twenty mark, Rhys Kennington in Billys managed 1 fish which was 20lb fished at 18 wraps to the over hanging tree, and Lewis Bradbrook managed one 32lb Common, so overall its was a fairly slow week apart from the Beach but this was definitely made up for by the social and the laughs that were had.
Until next time
