7 PB’S!!!

A sporadic week of weather at Gigantica, making the fishing a little tricky throughout the week here on the Road Lake.

Tim Woods first visit to Gigantica fishing in Decoy with his best mate Andy for his stag do. Monday morning Tim got straight in to his first fish of the session resulting in a 18lb mirror soon followed up by a 20lb common. Tim kept baiting accurate with mixed particle and chopped cell boilie down to his right-hand margin at 16 wraps towards the bund. PB’s started from 18lb working all the way up and landing Pacman at 43lb 8oz. Tim had a total of 1 40s, 2 30s, 7 20s and 4 mid doubles. DF Rigs with cell boilie topped with a Gigantica Special p-isotonic. Tim ended the week with a massive smile on his face landing 14 fish breaking his PB a whopping 6 times, well done Tim see you again next April for round 2.

We had Derek who fancied his chances in Tea Party 1 for the week fishing the 18 wraps spot towards Turtles Corner.  It was a very slow start for Derek taking until Thursday to get into his first fish. He caught a 25lb common followed up the morning after with his next common being a better one at 30lb. Action didn’t stop there for Derek, half an hour after slipping the common back his middle rod was away attached to Bombhead at 49lb 4oz breaking his PB. Spombing little and often seemed to have been the key for Derek throughout the week fishing size 4 spinner rigs with 12mm Isotonic pop ups over House mixed particle.

Next we have Neil in Tea party 2. Again, steady baiting little and often was the key for Neil. He managed a quick bite whilst putting his rods out! Neil started spombing house mixout and got another bite before he had chance to put his bobbins on! The fish were keen!

Fishing at 21 wraps towards the three stumps in his far margin resulting in a total of 6 fish weighing up to 36lb. One of the fish being the stunning mirror Zipplex at 22lb. That fell to a size 4 kamakura, spinner with a 12mm northern special topped with a piece of fake corn.

Mark took his chances in Bachiliers, he managed 2 fish after a very slow start but stuck it out landing a common, Borrows at a top weight of 40lb 2oz. Fishing at 28.5 wraps with a spinner rig and essential cell pop up. Mark baitied up with the house mix and boilie. He also managed to land a 33lb common! Resting the swim during the day seemed to kick start the bites!

We then had James in Turtles Corner fishing at 21 wrapsusing his own rolled bait landing a total of 3 fish up to 41lb 5oz. He completed this on a D-rig with a 18mm wafter. He tried a few different tactics and found this to be the one that worked for him and gave him good results.

It was a tricky week with the weather being so up and down but a great bunch of lads, and as always it is great to see PBs being broken.

Until next time

Tight lines

Andy
