Week Commencing: Sat 21/05/2016

Again a typical spring week here, rather unsettled with wind, rain and even the odd bit of sunshine thrown in for good measures.  Maximum temp for the week was a pleasant 22 degrees going down to 9 degrees at night.  A gentle westerly breeze blew for the majority of the week switching to a southerly on Friday afternoon, water temperature is at 18 degrees.

Paul Christopher set up in Tea Party 2,he had a total of 7 carp,1x double, 2 x 20’s, 3 x 30’s to 39lb 8oz, a 41lb 8oz mirror and a new PB mirror at 42lb ,he smashed his PB three times in one week, that’s not bad going, his left hand rod was cast over to the gap in the tree’s on the far margin at 18 wraps, the middle rod was casting over to the over hanging tree at 19 wraps and his third rod was cast inline with Billys also at 19 wraps, Paul was going round and baiting up after every fish and at 4pm just before dinner, he was into his first carp Saturday night which was on his left hand rod, only a small double but he was off the mark, over the week he used 15kg of boilies,Paul used a variety of rig’s over the week, but the IQ D rig with a Gigantica Banoffee Wafter was the rig that cult most of the carp.

Steve Giles fished the week Birches he had a total of 8 carp 4 x doubles, 2 x 20’s,a 30lb common and a new PB a Cracking 45lb mirror called Rose Bud, Steve had all three rods in a line at 19 wraps inline with the big tree on the far bank, over the course of the week he used 10kg of Mainline Cell boilies and 10kg of Active Bait Solutions boilies, Steve used three different rigs through out the week, the IQ D Rig, DF rig and the KD rig all with a Gigantica Banoffee wafter as his hook bait.

Alan Brown started in Tea Party 1, Sunday morning he had a cracking 32lb mirror, which he had at 15 wraps inline with turtles, the next morning he spotted a few fish in front of the Cage swim, so he decided to move round for the day, just after setting up Alan had a 24lb mirror, from the reeds on the right hand margin, the next day he moved again this time into turtles, just after casting out he had a take straight away this turned out to be a nice 31lb mirror, over the week he used 20kg boilies from Mainline Baits, he had all of his fish on the IQ D rig with a cell wafter.
