Week Commencing: Sat 18/07/2015

What a great week on the Road Lake, with 980lb of carp being landed just from two fathers and their sons, Top angling boys.

There was lots of PB’s being broken, the first one to smash his PB was Christopher Molesy and this was his first ever trip to Gigantica and his first time in France.  What a week he had, he landed a cracking 42lb mirror which smashed his PB by 23lb then he has a 39lb 8oz mirror and a 42lb mirror.  He was on cloud nine all week and he said he was going to book up straight away for next year as soon as he gets back to the UK.

The two young teenagers Casey and Sam also smashed there PB this week.

The weather conditions were much better this week, with it being overcast and not so hot the carp went on the feed and the daytime temperature was only 30 degrees and nighttime temperature was a nice cool 20 degrees.

Father and Son, Clint and Kasey Wansbro were in Turtles Corner, they had twenty four carp between them with 3x30s to 35lb10oz 10x20s and 11 doubles.  Clint had all his rods wrapped up at 18RL and cast towards the gap inbetween the island and the bank and Kasey had his 2 rods wrapped up at 12 RL cast towards T1. They were baiting up every day with 6kg of boilies and 3kg of Gigantica pellet, Kasey was using the IQ D rig with a Banoffee wafter, Clint was using a chod rig with a white pop up.

Father and Son, Les and Sam Wansbro were in Shingles they had twenty carp between them they had 4x30s to 36lb, 6x20 and 10 doubles.  Les had his rods wrapped up at 14RL and cast straight out in front of him and Sam had his rods down the right hand margin, they were baiting up every day with 5kg of boilies and 3kg of Gigantica pellet.   Both using the IQ D rig with a wafter as there hook bait.

Oliver Marshall was in T1 he had eighteen carp for the week, 6x30s to 38lb 9x20s and 3 doubles, all three rods were wrapped up at 18RL and cast straight out in front.  He was baiting up everyday with 2kg of Hybrid boilies and 3kg of Gigantica pellets, the IQ D rig with a Hybrid wafter done the trick for Oliver.

First timer Christopher Molesy was in Birches he had ten carp for the week, he had mirrors of 41lb 4oz, 42lb  and 39lb 8oz along with 5x20s and two doubles not a bad week for Chris, he smashed his PB three times this week as well.  He had all three rods wrapped up at 18RL and they were cast straight out inline with Billys on the opposite bank, he was Spodding out 4kg of Gigantica pellet and 2kg of boilies every day, then topping up with his throwing stick after each fish.

At Gigantica you get a breakfast roll delivered to your swim every morning at 9am and a main evening meal which is served at 5pm round at the lodge on the Main Lake, you can also order a baguette with a choice of fillings and drinks which will be delivered to your swim lunch time at approx 12.30pm and if you would like a nice cold 6 pack of beers in a cool box with ice it can be arranged also if you fancy a nice ice cream we can deliver them too.

Well that’s it for another week here at Gigantica not a bad week with only 6 anglers and 72 carp being landed, we had a great bunch of lads here this week and a big well done to the two young teenagers Kasey Wansbro and Sam Wansbro, great angling lads.

Hope to see you all here next year.

Just a quick up date to all coming to Gigantica Road Lake this year, we no longer supply scales.  So please can you bring your own set.  Also please take note but unfortunately due to having problems disposing of glass bottles we no longer have bottled beer on site and have moved onto cans, so if you bring or buy glass bottles you will have to dispose of them yourself.  Thank you in advanced for your understanding and for your co-operation.
