Week Commencing: Sat 30/08/2014

Young Gary Vickers thought it would be a great idea to spend his 55^th birthday here on the Road Lake.  Now Gary is a regular visitor to us on the Road Lake and couldn’t believe his luck as only his party were booked on for this week.

Being sociable creatures the guys grouped up in The Poo, The Goo, Tea Party 1 and 2.  Staurday evening and three of the guys hit the ground running with fish to 35lb, a great start.  Sunday came and the guys refined their spots and trickled in Hybrid boilies and pellets.

Scott stole the show with a cracker at 41lb, backed up by another thirty.  Hybrid snowman at 60 yards, old money, (15 wraps) fished on a combi rig.  Nigel and Gary in TP1 and TP2 liked what they saw and soon had fish between them to 35lb.  The group fished well and continued to steadily catch 24/7 over the coming days.

John in The Goo managed fish to mid twenty using IQ rigs with our Banoffee wafters.  Scott stole the show again with another biggie, The Wright Fish at 42lb.  Very impressive as most of his backup fish were thirty’s also.

Nigel, a “newbee” to French carp fishing, absolutely loved it with fish to 37lb and a suprise grassie at 24lb. Banoffee wafters soaked in Caramel Goo as usual, doing the job on the Road Lake.  Nigel caught 12 fish with five over 30lb and commented, “first trip to france and a fantastic week and a holiday to remember”.  Come back soon bud even if you have to bring Gary.

Gary, birthday boy Vickers, reckons its only getting better on the Road Lake, and we would have to agree.   With 11 fish up to 38lb with a new PB common and a very nice birthday cake.  Gazza's group had a great trip with nearly 50 carp and plenty of laughs.

Bait was trickled in by the whole group steadily all week, both Hybrid boilies and pellets.  Fish simply and effectively and it’s a great holiday water.  Both sociable and full of stunning carp.
